Damp, smoke, food debris… all three of these can have a negative effect on the smell of a car’s interior, which can prove a major challenge at resale.
The most effective cure is a deep clean, using Autoglym Professional’s Super Cleaner Sanitiser and Interior Cleaner, but for cars that don’t justify the time and investment involved in a full valet, Autoglym Spearmint Fogger is a good way of making them smell fresher and cleaner for a bargain price. The atomised spearmint fragrance is crisp and clean, as well as long-lasting, meaning it effectively hides any unpleasant whiffs.
It’s also super-easy to use, requiring just 10 minutes and no special skills – simply vac and wipe down the interior first and away you go.
To demonstrate Spearmint Fogger’s ability to the max, we tried it out in a 2009 Fiat Panda with 90,000 miles on the clock, which had been standing on a forecourt for several months and was a bit musty inside – so much so that we had to wipe some mould away before we began.
Here’s how you do it.
Important
- Do not drive vehicle immediately after use
- Do not operate fogger in an occupied vehicle
- Do not smoke in a car that has just been treated
Instructions
- Before opening, shake the can well to mix contents. Move the front seats of the car forwards.
- Place the fogger in the rear footwell or rear cup holder of the vehicle.
- Press the trigger all the way down until it locks in place and starts to deliver a visible mist.
- Close all vehicle doors and leave fogger to operate until the can is empty. The car interior will fill with mist due to the atomising effect of the fogger.
- Leave for a few minutes for the atomising effect to go to work on the interior of the car, then open all doors and leave the car to stand for at least 10 minutes before using it.
- Using a microfibre cloth, wipe any surplus droplets from hard plastic surfaces and major controls such as the steering wheel, column stalks and gear stick.
