The promotion that Dayco, a leading original equipment (OE) engine products and drive systems manufacturer and aftermarket supplier, extended to workshops in Northern Ireland was designed to support its wholesale customers, by rewarding workshops spending £75 or more on any Dayco product. On receiving their order, the workshop only needed to scan the QR Code provided by the supplying stockist to be entered into the prize draw.
“In reverse order, our winners begin with Strabane Exhaust Centre,” said Ann-Marie, “who won our third prize of 365 pairs of Dayco branded technician’s gloves. Strabane’s Kevin Devine was delighted and said they were particularly welcome as the price of nitrile gloves is currently so high.
“Second place went to Patrick McGrory Auto Repairs, which now has £1000 of credit to spend with supplying factor, Daly Motor Spares. Patrick commented that although Dayco is always his preferred brand for timing belt kits, the competition made buying a wider range of Dayco products even more beneficial and that’s something he will now happily continue to do.
“Which leaves our overall winner, Cartmill Auto Services who’ve won the star prize of a LAUNCH 2 post 4.0T ramp. The owner, Paul Cartmill was thrilled to have won the ramp and said it would make a great difference in his workshop. He went on to explain that he is always happy to fit Dayco, as he knows it to be a quality OE brand, which he’ll continue to buy through A C Components.
“As well as congratulating our three winners, we’d also like to show our appreciation to the three motor factors that supply them: Caldwell Motor Factors for Strabane Exhaust Centre, Daly Motor Spares for Patrick McGrory Auto Repairs and AC Components for Cartmill Auto Services, we couldn’t have done it without them.”
Dominic Caldwell of Caldwell Motor Factors said: “Congratulations to the guys at Strabane, it’s always good to be winner! Well done to Dayco and the team too, as it’s great that together we can help raise the profile of such a fantastic brand and its top quality products.”
On behalf of Daly Motor Spares, the company’s owner, Nicky Daly said: “It was great that Dayco ran this competition as it was some positive activity amidst a fairly negative 2021 with Brexit and Covid. I also believe it has helped to raise Dayco’s profile in the area and I appreciate the ongoing support we have from the Dayco team.”
Alwyn Megarity, owner of AC Components echoed those sentiments and said: “AC Components has a long-standing relationship with Dayco. They have a great product and a great team, and we were only too glad to get involved with their ramp promotion. Together with our pro-active sales team and the high level of entries from our customers, it turned into a great success. So, congratulations again go to Paul on winning the main prize.”
The last word however, has to go to Ann-Marie, who concluded:
“As the Dayco Area Sales Manager for Northern Ireland, it has been a great pleasure to run this competition in partnership with our factor customers. I have also been lucky enough to meet some of the garages that buy Dayco, whilst out promoting the competition and it has genuinely been fantastic to have the chance to talk to the mechanics fitting our products, receive their feedback and generally get to know them. I look forward to running further promotions in Northern Ireland and working with all our customers there in the future.”
