Launched after many months of research, development and testing the FIRE CLOAK – EV Car Fire Blanket helps to prevent collateral damage to surrounding property when an EV car fire event occurs.
This can easily happen if the high energy propulsion battery is damaged, or a manufacturing fault causes it to go into “Thermal Runaway”. Just a single rogue cell, short circuiting, can generate temperatures over 1,000°C which starts a fire and in turn creates a “domino effect” spreading it from cell to cell, in a short space of time an intense fire is established.
Manufactured from a specialised quartz material and coated with a fire-resistant polymer, the resulting high-tech fabric has extremely high temperature resistance. This has recently been proven with the FIRE CLOAK attaining a Class 0 rating, the highest British Standard for material fire resistance.
