Creating a customer database
A client database can be more than just a list of customers’ names, titles and contact information. By using codes and headings, you can quickly sort a client database to help you create lists for different uses.
For example, by coding customers as A, B and C based on their spend value or products purchased, it will help collate a list of your best spending customers overall, along with customers to target for specific product offers.
When capturing data, we recommend:
Asking customers at point of sale if they would like:
- To receive future offers
- To be entered into competitions
- To be kept up to date on new products and services in the future.
Asking customers to complete a feedback form on their recent visit and services, helping you understand what you are doing well and what areas need improving.
However, you must remember tot ask your customers first before you can add them to your database to share offers, new products, or services as per GDPR regulations.
Going the extra digital mile
As part of our ongoing efforts to future-proof the independent aftermarket, we have introduced a new cloud-based version of the latest Garage Management Software (GMS), CarSys. Having everything backed up on the cloud system not only helps with storage, it helps simplify the way data is used.
CarSys is a user-friendly software platform allowing garages to streamline ways of working – boosting productivity and efficiency in the workshop, while delivering a more professional customer experience.
