As in those challenging times, we need to accept the “new normal” and come with a different level of solutions and expectations. eBay recently demonstrated their innovative spirit at eBay Connect, an event that is made for developers to innovate, to discuss APIs and the future of the online marketplace, organised and conducted entirely online.
On the second and final eBay Connect webinar for 2021 on July 12 the 2021 Star Developer Awards were presented in two important categories – Early Adopter Award and Rapid Growth Award. For those two awards , all 3rd party developers who contributed in business initiatives and used APIs in a productive way were considered.
As Andrew Rowson, Head of Services at ecommotors shared “One of the reasons we founded ecommotors was to marry up services and software for the aftermarket. That said, we have a lot of history in other sectors too, so it’s great to see the tech being used for healthcare, and for such a critical cause.”
The ecommotors platform provides the listing management, stock level updates, order management and the integration for eBay’s NHS PPE Portal, and for this achievement, as well as for important eBay initiatives like eBay Fulfilment, it was honoured with the first Star award. Early Adopter Award is the first of two global awards. It’s winning is a result of a close collaboration with eBay on the PPE portal and hundreds of hours of volunteered work. The portal which went live in May 2020 has already processed an incredible 3.5 billion items of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to primary care and social providers. From its experience with automotive, the ecommotors platform is also well used to the large volume demands for product SKUs, listings and orders through the end-to-end process of goods in and warehousing through to pick, pack, dispatch and deliver.

In June our tech platform also won the eBay Partner Awards 2021 for the UK and FRITES (France, Italy and Spain) for Implementation Excellence with eBay Managed Payments, a key strategic programme for eBay. As you can imagine we’re very pleased with the smooth transitioning to this new payment system for all eBay sellers.
