When asked how successful the event has been so far for LUK Euro Car Parts, their group CEO Andy Hamilton was excited to tell us, ‘It has been a really good event, we’re obviously on day two which is specifically designed for the aftermarket so hopefully we have got a few more garage and body shop customers here today. As an exhibitor, we’ve got four stands here today which is a big step forwards compared to where we were four years ago. That’s really because we have got to showcase all of the different dimensions that we’ve got, along with the needs of the industry and the challenges of the industry. We have got four windows for customers to really understand and to think about. The show is going really well and the feedback has been really good from the customers so, so far, so good.’
He was then asked how the show helps LUK Euro Car Parts grow to which he stressed, ‘I think that there’s little opportunity in a normal industry environment where you can get both solution providers, suppliers, manufacturers and distributers together with customers in a big environment so that you can really start to emphasise what the needs are, what the requirements are and what they need to do as a business. So, it’s a great opportunity to bring everyone together. We’ve been here before and have obviously understood the benefits before but now we have really decided to push on as there is actually a lot more that we need to focus on.’
He continued to explain what LUK euro Car Parts does. ‘Obviously from a business perspective we are really trying to work on a customer centric approach. Our mainstream job is providing past distribution facilities to our customers but we are trying to get well beyond that and are trying to push to help prepare the workshops, we have a lot of investment in training, a lot of investment in workshop solutions, we are specifically focused on concept development. These are all the things that customers need to be prepared and capable of doing that work which is where we are putting a lot of emphasis. We have been working successfully on that for the past couple of years and this year continues but most of the emphasis is on preparing the workshop and the body shop so it can do that work.’
