It is in the future of change that we introduce NexDrive.
NexDrive is a programme designed to train and support mechanics in data analysis and complex diagnoses. As the sales of electric vehicles are increasing faster than expected, AAG (Alliance Automotive Group) recognised our obligation to create a new label for the independent aftermarket to stay ahead of these new developments.
At the AAG Garage Show in October 2022, the UK launched the NexDrive programme, offering automotive service providers better access to data, tools, and knowledge to enable maintenance and repairs on electric and hybrid vehicles for their customers. When other technologies such as Hydrogen emerge, NexDrive will be on hand to offer support regarding those techniques. Our NexDrive solution offers an exceptional experience for maintenance or repair, whilst retaining the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty, and creating a certified alternative to the main dealer.
As a brand, the NexDrive network will also attract and train the next generation of automotive technicians in the new ecosystem by providing a range of training courses including EV2.2, EV3, EV4, EV2.1, HFO1234YF, and EV/Hybrid CPD. Young talents that have passion and dedication for all technologies will have the growth and opportunities for moving forward.
We caught up with two of NexDrive’s members to see how the NexDrive has worked for them since signing up.
Nathan at Plantexpand:
At Plantexpand, we work on a lot of fleet vehicles and are increasingly seeing EV (Electric Vehicles) and hybrid vehicles as part of companies’ fleet. Being part of NexDrive has raised the standard for us as a business, providing an added level of professionalism and competency so that our customers have confidence in the work we carry out on their vehicles.
We have only seen a positive impact in being part of NexDrive. It differentiates us from other independents, providing our customers with a premium service for all their EV and hybrid needs, whilst allowing us to retain our identity which is key for independent owners.
If garages are seeking longevity in this industry, NexDrive provides you with a path to keep up with the changing technologies and has a great network of people with the skills to support us.
Anthony at AAK:
AAK Autos has a dedicated EV section within the garage, so joining the NexDrive programme has allowed us to strengthen this area and give customers the confidence for us to complete works on their electric vehicles.
Since joining the NexDrive programme, Alliance have wanted input from garages on the programme, rather than just pushing something that does not benefit us. It’s nice that garages have a voice to be listened to on their needs and the support from Alliance and the NexDrive team has been incredible
If a garage is looking to move forward with the industry, I would 100% recommend they sign up to NexDrive. EV’s aren’t going anywhere and NexDrive provides backing from a global brand and company that operates worldwide that is willing to support technicians and garages. This is invaluable and they are helping independent garages move forward.
