When asked what he wanted to get out of his day at Automechanika as a visitor, Christopher replied without hesitation, ‘So today I’m in Birmingham at the NEC Automechanika and I’m just trying to find new business contacts and learn about a few different opportunities and see what’s available so far. It’s been very good and I’ve met loads of new people and learnt about loads of new different products that are available that I can use and I’m definitely going to be introducing some new products and systems to my business. Today, I didn’t actually really know what to expect. I’ve never been taught before (about some of the products available) and I’ve learned a lot, a lot more than I expected. Having detailing at Automechanika is great for me because it has come up on my radar as something to potentially look at, but it’s just good to see that it’s becoming more known and it’s becoming a more respected thing.’
He was then questioned on his short-term future goals. He stressed, ‘In the next couple of months or the next 12 months, my main thing is I’m expanding into the PPF industry ‘paint protection industry’ myself. Being here, there’s a few other things I have opened my eyes to. One for example is the air conditioning re-gassing which is something that I could potentially introduce to my business that I wouldn’t have thought of doing originally but because I came here, I’ve opened my eyes to how much of a simple process it is and how it could make such a big difference for anyone working in detailing. I’d tell anyone to come to Automechanika to learn as much as you possibly can. Everything is always changing, things are always progressing, and if you don’t keep up to date, you’re going to get left behind. But also, there’s lots of other opportunities out there if you open your eyes to things, you wouldn’t have thought of doing.’
